Our History

Our family winery with more than 100 years of experience in Chile is managed by its fourth generation

History

Santa Catalina winery was founded in Santiago in 1922 and is one of the oldest wine producers in Chile and South America. Its founder, Don Lorenzo Reus Marti, brought the expertise and winemaking know-how from the traditional central region of Mallorca, Spain, to the fertile lands of Central Valley in Chile.

Throughout our history, our company has been continuously supplying high quality wines to the domestic market. Nowadays, Santa Catalina wines can be found in major supermarkets, specialist liquor stores, restaurants and bars in Chile.
Furthermore, in recent years our finest wines have landed in foreign markets, such as South and Central America, New Zealand, Samoa, Cook Island and China.

Today, the company is managed by the fourth generation of founder Lorenzo Reus Marti’s family.

Vineyards

The winery produces wine with grapes of protected designation of origin from the renowned Maipo and Curicó viticultural valleys.

The company owns and manages vineyards in Alto Jahuel, Buin and Curicó. The major grape varieties cultivated are: Merlot, Carménère, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Malbec, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.

We maintain an exhaustive and permanent management of our vineyards, looking after every detail, delicate and patient harvesting of grapes to produce wines of the highest quality.

Wine Cellar

The production facilities of Santa Catalina winery are located at Alto Jahuel, Buin and Curicó. The wine cellars have a total capacity of 7 million liters of storage.

We have rooms for our stainless steel tanks, French oak barrels and for our best wine bottles of the last years.

The cellar is very well supported. This has allowed maintaining the “old” style of the winery, as a result of its more than 100 years of existence.
